Canon Pixma IP 2000

Hallo,

ich habe Ubuntu, Edgy Eft( 6.10 ).
Die Installation von Turboprint klappt. Wenn ich nun mit meinem Pixma IP 2000 eine Testseite drucken will passiert leider nichts, ausser, dass der Drucker gelb blinkt. Unter Windows funktioniert der Drucker.

Woran kann das liegen? Ganz vielen Dank schonmal!

evtl. handelt es sich um folgendes Problem mit Zugriffsrechten auf die USB-Schnittstelle, welches durch den Kommandozeilenbefehl

adduser cupsys plugdev

behoben werden soll (trat bei uns nicht auf).

also have the same problem. Canon Pixma MP780 on Ubuntu 6.10. I have reinstalled turboprint and the key file (that I payed for). I have removed printer, added printer, changed its connection properties, still not working. I try to send a test page and it just waits for ages, no responce from printer at all.

When printing a document, it sits in the printer que indefinatly, other print jobs are just added to the que.

The printer still works fine if I use MS Windows XP

Could someone please help me, this issue has almost rendered my linux machine for business useless

I have a similar problem on an MP600.

I solved it by checking the permissions of /dev/usb*

Turned out that cupsys runs as user "cupsys", which needs to be in group plugdev. This is on Ubuntu Feisty. So check

ls -l /dev/usb*
ps aux |grep cups
grep plugdev /etc/group

If that is the case for you, you need to

adduser cupsys plugdev
